Comprehension of a Vision

Prophetic article – Thomas Downes( )

Do you often understand what the Lord shows you in a vision as soon as you receive it? Does it always mean what you interpret it to mean? Are you always aware of the confirming evidence that accompanies the vision He is giving you? Was something spoken prophetically before you saw the vision? This morning, during my breakfast, the Lord told me to read Romans Chapter 4 where it says “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted unto him as righteousness by God.” (NKJ).  Then as I continued with my breakfast,  I happened to pick up my smartphone to check my e-mail and found a message from a ministry that I subscribe to and found this message:  “Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15: 6  NIV).

Last night (Dec. 9) at the Wednesday night service, our pastor, who travels to other countries to preach, told us of a prophecy he spoke to the gathering of international ministers, that a huge tsunami was going to hit Venezuela. But the tsunami that is coming is not like what you would expect, where a wall of water rises up and overwhelmingly floods the coastline. This prophesied tsunami is the overwhelming tsunami of the power of the Holy Spirit that is coming upon the country of Venezuela.

This morning (Dec. 10) on my job as a machinist / machine operator, I was preparing the machine with the proper fluid levels when I saw in the Spirit the large overhead door at the front of the shop was being deluged with a high wall of water coming in about 3/4 of the way up, and as it was approaching my machine it was obvious I would have to climb very quickly up to the top of the machine or I could have been, in the vision, swept away. But then I realized what had been spoken by my pastor was being revealed to me as well concerning the place where I work. God is going to manifest His overwhelming Presence in such a powerful and magnificent way, that I am going to be swept up in it as well.

Today, Dec. 11,  the day following the vision of the shop being deluged with the high wall of water, I was witnessing to a fellow employee about the Word of God. After a few minutes of proclaiming the Word to him, the man was in agreement that he needed the Lord in his life. He acknowledged his need and asked Christ into his life as his Lord and Savior. The Spirit of the Lord has begun the fulfillment of the vision, in His own timing, and with His own means of leading. Thanks be to God that I can be led by the Spirit in fulfillment of the vision..
Scripture states that “though the enemy has come in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.” Holy Spirit, God Himself, will manifest such an overwhelming convicting Presence that the enemy cannot stand in the same place where you stand;  as if he still has the goods on you in some way. There is nothing that can stand before the Lord in its own power. All authority is in the Person of the Holy Spirit, Whom Jesus and the Father have sent to be with you, dwell within you, and empower you.

The Lord’s directive is saying to you: “Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” Don’t be afraid of your part in the Vision the Lord has given you. Since it is the Lord Who has given you the Vision, He will provide for the fulfillment of the Vision. He is known as The Lord Who Sees, Jehovah- Jireh.. He sees the necessary moves to provide along your walk with Him in fulfilling the vision.  He will make the dynamic kingdom moves to cause sustenance to meet you on your path to obedience, as well as for your personal fulfillment in your walk with the Lord. He is faithful who promised, and He will do it.

  1. I just read your article about the big waves … I too have dreamed of a huge wave rising up above me coming to crash down … And it came down on me … But the miraculous thing was that I was never moved .. I was so scared but once the water rolled away… I remember being so excited that I was still standing … God may lift you above the waves … Yet He may also hold you steadfast through the waves. Amen

    • Thank you for your comment Melissa. I’m sorry I didn’t respond sooner. My posts are published on my good friend Kevin Stevens’ website and and I don’t see the comments right away. But I certainly am glad my article was a blessing to you. I truly appreciate your kind words. T.D.
