If the Lord Calls You by Name, What is Your Answer?

Prophetic article by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)
Imagine, if you have children, you called your son or daughter, to the supper table and the answer you hear is “Okay, I’m coming.” If they are hungry enough they will come right away to eat what you have prepared for them. If you tell your son or daughter that you want to take them to a favorite place where they really enjoy the opportunity to play with favorite friends, or watch a favorite sporting event, they would more than likely become very excited to go with you. Children will always be up to the task of enjoying their own favorite things to do.

Everyone one of us who are called by the Lord has a favorite memory of how we were called by God into the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We may have been going through a long, very lonely time in our lives, or we experienced a tremendous setback that caused great duress and God sent a means for you to fully realize that He has suddenly become available to you as you reached a point of no return. And He answered you. and showed you far beyond any means of the imagination that He has loved to the fullest measure.

How is He calling you, right here, right now? Are you in that place in your life where there is no other place you would rather be, than right here, right now? Are you fully persuaded that what God has promised, He is able also to perform? How do you respond to the persuading voice that you know fully well is His Voice that tells you: “I want you to write right now”? Or “Don’t take that path you have been choosing. It is not where I called to to go”? Or when He says to you: “Don’t worry about what you are going to say. I will give you the Word to speak when you get there.”

When I began this message , I didn’t have a clue what He wanted me to say or to write. But He is speaking to you as you are reading this. Because He is speaking as He gives me the Word to write. This Word that He gives is the result of obedience to His call on my life. And I am responding as soon as my heart is tuned to the Voice of the Holy Spirit. He has been tuning me in to His Presence by the calling of His Voice. As Jesus said “My sheep know My Voice and I am known by My sheep.

So, if today you hear His Voice, do not harden you heart. For His Word is living, and active; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, dividing joints and marrow, soul and spirit. It is the discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. There is nothing hidden from Him to Whom we must give an account. .Now, are you hungry enough to answer right away when He calls you to respond to the Voice of His Presence?

This is why this question is put forth to you: “If the Lord calls you by name, what is your answer?  For Jesus said : “If you love Me, you will obey Me.”
“I will stand upon the ramparts and see what He will say to me; and consider how I will answer when I am reproved.”   Habakkuk 2

The Church and the Whale

Prophetic Article by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)
Many of us have seen movies about whaling that took place in the 1700’s and 1800’s where the tall ships would hunt and chase the whales in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Such movies as “Moby Dick” and “Into the Deep” have presented some fascinating scenery where the men in the small boats with spears connected to strong ropes would chase the whales, spear them, be pulled on a wild chase that could put the men in great jeopardy, and haul in their catch along the sides of the tall ships. The sailors would then begin the process of stripping the animal of its meat and skin, cut the whale’s blubber in manageable pieces and store the contents in the hold to be processed into whale oil. The oil would then to be sold on the market for the oil lamps that were used for lighting in homes and businesses. It was a very profitable business at the time.

We also have the Biblical story of Jonah. He had been called by God to go to the city of Nineveh, to preach to the people of the impending judgement that the Lord was about to bring down on the city.  But Jonah wasn’t about to answer the call of God upon his life. “But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it and went with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. But a great storm arose, and the mariners called out to their gods after throwing the cargo overboard. but Jonah hid in the lowest part of the ship and was fast asleep.”

So they cast lots to see for whose cause that the storm came upon them, and the lot fell upon Jonah. When they discovered that Jonah’s running from the call of God was the reason for the tempest, for Jonah had told them who he was and that he had fled from the Lord’s directive, they all called out to the Lord, asked for forgiveness, and then picked Jonah up and threw him into the sea. The sea then ceased from its raging as soon as they threw Jonah overboard.

Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. While there, Jonah prayed to the Lord, acknowledging and repenting of his wrongful fleeing from the calling of God upon his life. And then the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land. Jonah  fulfilled the calling to go to Nineveh to preach repentance from their sinful ways, and God spared the city from the destruction He was about to fulfill upon it.

Now hear the Word of the Lord this day;  ” I have sent to you the entire Word of Life for the purpose of developing you into a workman that needs not to be ashamed. I have called you into a ministry of reconciliation. Be reconciled to Me now says the Lord. My purpose is to speak to you, and to anoint you to worship the Lord with all of your being. Think about the offering you have been giving Me . Has your whole heart truly been engaged with Me? Do you think that I cannot see this?  If you are distracted while trying to look like you love someone, do you truly believe that it goes unnoticed by those you spend your time with? Trim away and lay aside those things that are drawing you away from the wholehearted love I created you for.

I have sent  My Spirit; so that you will become a vessel of honor,  to help you prepare for the oil of anointing that is coming. It is not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit, says the Lord. You will experience the unction from the Holy One and you will come to know all things that pertain to life and Godliness. For God does not give you the spirit of fear but of power, of love and a sound mind. All the things that I have been showing you will be brought to your remembrance again because I have sent forth My Word;  it will not return to Me voided or incomplete. My Word will accomplish the purpose for which I sent it;” says the Lord.

Upon this Rock I will build My Church. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it; says the Lord.

Where the Spirit of the Lord Is

Prophetic Article by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)
“Psalm 137 states:  Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your Presence? If I ascend into Heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me,; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,  but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.”

No matter where you are, you are known. No matter what you do to hide yourself, there is someone who sees you. No matter what your secret thoughts are, they are seen, and they are either being incubated by the adversary , or they are being encouraged by the lover of your soul. If You choose to be self righteous in your own way of thinking,  you are going to be at odds with Righteous One Who sits at the right hand of Power, Who has sent His Spirit to teach you all things that the Father wants to reveal to you.

Your adversary the devil is trying to stop any advancement you could make in the Spirit, because it furthers his own demise; and he knows it all too well. He is being exposed every time you have an anxious thought that challenges the sovereignty of the Presence of the Lord. And with every exposure, or subtle manifestation of the devil’s negative intent, the Spirit of the Lord is raising up His own standard against him. The Spirit of the Lord is giving you, in every instance, His own Word that has been written, and the Word has become the physical manifestation of Jesus Christ himself;   For “The Word became flesh , and dwelt among us; and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and Truth.”

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He Who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God Who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Who died, and furthermore is also risen, Who is even at the right hand of God, Who also makes intersession for us.”

Now hear the Word of the Lord. “I have been sending forth My Word to you because, in love, I have purchased you  to lead you along the path of righteousness for My Name’s sake. It is time to wake up and see. It is time to wake up and hear. Lay aside those things that have been a stumbling block and make up your mind concerning who I am to you. If you think you truly know Me as God like you have been saying that I am, then get up and walk with Me. I call you to listen and stand upon the ramparts to see what I will say to you. Draw near to Me with your whole heart; I will be found again by you. I have never left you. You own self righteousness is what has been a stumbling block for you. This is not intended as condemnation for you, but to bring you back to the love you used to have for My Presence. Do not be weary in doing good, for in due season, at the right time, you will reap if you do not lose heart.”: says the Lord.

“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart;  Wait I say, on the Lord!”  Psalm 27:14

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”   2 Corinthians 3:17b

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

There is a Way. You Must Believe.

Written by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end, it will lead to destruction.” How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your Word (Psalm 119). The things you set your heart to pursue can look fantastic because of their appearance, or because of how much money you will make, or because of some status symbol it will be for you.  After all, a new Land Rover or a new Cadillac will look a lot better in your drive way than a rusty old pickup truck with multiple dents and holes and more than 300,000 miles on the odometer.

In the book of James Chapter 4 we are being warned about our attitudes, our desires and our reasons, concerning our attempts to pursue the things of this world. The of Word God states: “Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures”

“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy with God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? But He gives more grace, therefore He says:  “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

“Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands you sinners,; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” (James 4: 1-10).

Now hear the Word of the Lord:  “All the day long I have been outstretching My hands to a disobedient and gain-saying people; who want their own way , yet they wonder why their way seems so difficult. I have been blocking your way because of My love for you. For those things you have been trying to accomplish on your own without desiring My Heart’s Life-Giving intent for you, are becoming more than your heart can handle. The more you pursue your own way, the farther you will draw away from My Presence. You are provoking Me to Godly jealousy. Therefore I have set obstacles in your path to prevent the harm you would be causing for yourself. Not only for yourself, but for those who love you as well.
“It is time for you to wake up. Break up the hardness of your heart by turning away from those shallow and beggarly elements that have caused your heart to pursue what is not good. I did not lead you that way. Your adversary has lulled you into accepting what has been detrimental to your future. Consider your ways now, says the Lord, for your have been putting your riches into a bag full of holes. For you will fall far short of the returns you have been expecting. It is time for you to come home. You may wonder; “How do I return, where do I turn; who would accept me now?” I have been calling you since the day you came forth from your mother’s womb. I been placing My own hand upon your life to draw you back with My everlasting love. Do you believe that I haven’t known the path or direction you have been running? There is a way. You must believe. I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life, says the Lord. Whosoever shall come unto Me, I shall never cast out;” says the Lord
Now, Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Are You Ready? It is a Tremendous Investment

Prophetic Article by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)
Are you ready to hear what has been stored up for you in the Heavens? Are you ready to be brought into a revelation of what His calling is for the future you anticipate being a part of? Have you been preparing yourself as a watchman on the wall, guarding the safe haven that has been protecting the ones you love? For the weapons of your warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Have you not known, have you not heard, that the Lord of Heaven and earth does not grow weary or tired of you? You may become tired and weary yourself of waiting for answers, calling upon the Lord and not hearing or seeing what He wants to show you. But you need to know that He has been preparing you for the hope of your calling, He has been preparing you for the revelation of the riches of His inheritance in the saints. For Christ is dwelling in your heart by faith. So that you being rooted and grounded in love will begin to understand the length, the width, the depth, and the height and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of our God. There is a fountain that is flowing straight from the heart of our God. It is the Word He has been sending you. There is a stream that flows straight from Emmanuel’s veins. It came to heal you. It came to seal you.  It came to wash your sins away.  It is the purchase price that was paid for your redemption. The end result of this price is the riches of the Father’s  inheritance in the saints. And you personally are the inheritance He longs for.

He longs for the day when you return to Him and call Him your own, because He has called you His own son, His own daughter. He calls out to you as a Father who has been missing someone so important to His Family that He had to send the Redeemer through such an awesome path, such an incredible mission. It seems unfathomable that you or I could be thought of in such way that He would draw you to Himself using such  means as the sacrifice that was expressed. But The Father knew there would never be any other way that would have worked for Him. It had to be done. There would be no other plan or approach that would accomplish His purpose.

Are you understanding His purpose now? For this purpose was the Son of God manifest: to destroy the works of the evil one. You have an adversary, the devil, who seeks to destroy the person you have been called to be. He has a mission to totally divert you, totally confuse you, totally annihilate your sense of self-worth, your sense of belonging, your sense of destiny in the Lord. This is because he knows that the power of God that has been made ready for you, will totally defeat him. The adversary doesn’t want you to know, or even be aware of this tremendous investment that has been placed upon you, and is within you. It is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory..

Turn around, now, and face the one Who has loved you with an everlasting love. Pride will cause you to fall, and that is what the adversary has been licking his chops for, to see to it that your pride will cause your fall. The first thing mentioned in Proverbs Chapter 6 that the Lord hates is a proud look. but it is also the trick used by the enemy to keep your life in such a shambles that you would never be effective because of it. Turn around now and face the One Who loves you, Who is still outstretching His arms to you with His everlasting love.

“For I know the thoughts I have toward you”, says the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil. to give you a future and hope. Return unto Me and I will return unto you. There is nothing too hard for Me says the Lord, for I will abundantly pardon when you return to Me with your whole heart. And I will be found by you when you seek Me and search for Me with your whole heart. For the arm of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot save. Now gives thanks for this unspeakable gift that has been afforded to you by the Blood of the Lamb. For you shall overcome by the Blood of the Lamb, and the word of your testimony, says the Lord.”

Rest: Is it a Gift?

Prophetic article by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)

Most people work hard. Many people have goals in their lives that require a lot of work, a lot of planning, of brainstorming, seeking counsel and doing research for the purpose of succeeding in meeting their goals in life. It has been said that those who don’t have a plan are already planning to fail. Sometimes a fail in a plan can be inevitable when you are not keeping things in proper perspective. One can lose sight of the goal when you take your eyes off the prize and just settle for something, like: “Oh well, that’s close enough, I guess.”

Hard work has its rewards. You work hard at your job to make ends meet at home. You do your best to accommodate the requirements for productivity on the job, to produce output so that you can keep your job for a long time, to earn raises, to hopefully make friends of some of your coworkers, and build good relationships with bosses in order to earn their respect.  All of this requires a conscious effort on your part to be all you can be, in the Lord. So what does all of this have to do with “Rest”?

Being at rest, and working hard sounds like a paradox, doesn’t it?  It’s like you are sitting in a chair, but you’re still standing up on the inside of you. You can equate it to jumping up and down while you’re trying to get the baby to go to sleep. How do we get this rest thing to work while you’re anxious? How can you rest when you are writing a blog when the cat is sitting on the printer and all of a sudden the printer falls on the floor?  It happened just now. (the cat’s still running through the house).
Psalm 37: 7 says “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him: do not fret because of him who prospers in his way; because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret – it only causes harm.”

In Matthew 11: 28, Jesus is saying “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Come and learn of Me for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for you soul.  For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
Hebrews 4: 3, 9-12  state that ” we who believe do enter that rest”, and “There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent (strive to) enter that rest lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.

Based on the Word of the Lord, then, rest is therefore, a heart matter. Rest is a gift God has given and made available for you to enter into. It is a sabbath rest. Our Comforter , the Holy Spirit will make this alive in your life when you call upon Him. For Jesus said that “when He, the Holy Spirit comes, He will guide you into all truth….He will take from what is Mine and show it unto you.”

This is what He will be showing you:      “Be still and know that I am God.” “Call upon Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things that you know not.” “You receive not because you ask not” “Is anything too hard for God?” “For God does not give you the spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind.” “Ask, and it shall be given unto you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you.”. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage, do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Now, by faith, enter His rest.  For the promises of God are “Yes” and “Amen.”

Comprehension of a Vision

Prophetic article – Thomas Downes( http://www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com )

Do you often understand what the Lord shows you in a vision as soon as you receive it? Does it always mean what you interpret it to mean? Are you always aware of the confirming evidence that accompanies the vision He is giving you? Was something spoken prophetically before you saw the vision? This morning, during my breakfast, the Lord told me to read Romans Chapter 4 where it says “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted unto him as righteousness by God.” (NKJ).  Then as I continued with my breakfast,  I happened to pick up my smartphone to check my e-mail and found a message from a ministry that I subscribe to and found this message:  “Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15: 6  NIV).

Last night (Dec. 9) at the Wednesday night service, our pastor, who travels to other countries to preach, told us of a prophecy he spoke to the gathering of international ministers, that a huge tsunami was going to hit Venezuela. But the tsunami that is coming is not like what you would expect, where a wall of water rises up and overwhelmingly floods the coastline. This prophesied tsunami is the overwhelming tsunami of the power of the Holy Spirit that is coming upon the country of Venezuela.

This morning (Dec. 10) on my job as a machinist / machine operator, I was preparing the machine with the proper fluid levels when I saw in the Spirit the large overhead door at the front of the shop was being deluged with a high wall of water coming in about 3/4 of the way up, and as it was approaching my machine it was obvious I would have to climb very quickly up to the top of the machine or I could have been, in the vision, swept away. But then I realized what had been spoken by my pastor was being revealed to me as well concerning the place where I work. God is going to manifest His overwhelming Presence in such a powerful and magnificent way, that I am going to be swept up in it as well.

Today, Dec. 11,  the day following the vision of the shop being deluged with the high wall of water, I was witnessing to a fellow employee about the Word of God. After a few minutes of proclaiming the Word to him, the man was in agreement that he needed the Lord in his life. He acknowledged his need and asked Christ into his life as his Lord and Savior. The Spirit of the Lord has begun the fulfillment of the vision, in His own timing, and with His own means of leading. Thanks be to God that I can be led by the Spirit in fulfillment of the vision..
Scripture states that “though the enemy has come in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.” Holy Spirit, God Himself, will manifest such an overwhelming convicting Presence that the enemy cannot stand in the same place where you stand;  as if he still has the goods on you in some way. There is nothing that can stand before the Lord in its own power. All authority is in the Person of the Holy Spirit, Whom Jesus and the Father have sent to be with you, dwell within you, and empower you.

The Lord’s directive is saying to you: “Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” Don’t be afraid of your part in the Vision the Lord has given you. Since it is the Lord Who has given you the Vision, He will provide for the fulfillment of the Vision. He is known as The Lord Who Sees, Jehovah- Jireh.. He sees the necessary moves to provide along your walk with Him in fulfilling the vision.  He will make the dynamic kingdom moves to cause sustenance to meet you on your path to obedience, as well as for your personal fulfillment in your walk with the Lord. He is faithful who promised, and He will do it.

Found Wanting in the Balances?

Prophetic Article by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)
In Daniel Chapter 5 we have the account of The King Belshazzar, the son of King Nebuchadnezzar. He was hosting a great feast for 1000 of his lords and drank wine with them. During the feast the king saw the fingers of a man’s hand writing on the plaster wall near a lamp stand. All of the king’s wise men were called to read the words written on the wall and interpret them. If one of them could interpret the words, the king would reward him by making him the third ruler in his kingdom.
They could not figure out the meaning of what was written. But Daniel was remembered, and was mentioned to the king as having an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles and explaining enigmas. So, he was called to give the interpretation.
Because King Belshazzar had not given glory to God for all the things God had provided for him, but actually worshiped them as idols, the Lord sent the man’s hand to write on the wall: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This was the interpretation:
MENE: God has numbered your kingdom and finished it.
TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances and found wanting;
PERES: Your kingdom has been divided.
Then King Belshazzar made Daniel the third ruler in his kingdom. That very night King Belshazzar was slain.
Are you wondering what this is leading to? Is this just about Daniel? Is it just about King Belshazzar? Is it about those who didn’t understand the meaning of the writing on the wall? That may be partially true. No, this is more about the Lord’s authority over mankind’s choices that can lead to a man’s own downfall if we don’t give glory, honor and recognition to the One Who Sends Forth His Word.
You may have read many times in Isaiah 55 that says “I send forth My Word, it will not return to Me void. It will accomplish the purpose for which I sent it. You more than likely read in First Corinthians 2 where it states that “The eye has not seen, nor the ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things which God has in store for those who love Him. But God reveals those things to us, those who love Him, by His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, even the deep things of God. Daniel did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who was from God; and he came to know the things that were freely given to him by God.
But the natural man, such as King Belshazzar, and the 1000 of his lords, does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, nor can he know them for they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual, such as Daniel was, judges all things, yet he himself was rightly judged by no one. The name Daniel means “God is my judge.”  He was one of the captives of Judah, living in Babylon.
Is there something that has been keeping you captive? Do you find yourself “wanting in the balances”, as if the bad things you think of yourself far outweigh the good?  It may be true that the choices you have made has led you down a path that has been very destructive in your life; destructive for yourself as well as for the relationships you used to enjoy. How long has it been since you tried to make things right with the Lord? Do you believe nothing will help you turn around, to turn back to your first love? Are you aware of Who your First Love really is?
There is a way, as it says in Proverbs, that seems right to a man , but it leads to a path of destruction. Daniel, in spite of his captivity and imprisonment, kept his heart right before the Lord, and the Lord delivered him time after time, from the mouths of the lions in the lion’s den, and from  being falsely imprisoned. And the Lord used Daniel as an instrument of righteousness to rightly divide and interpret the message that the Lord intended for those who would not glorify Him.
Today, we need to get our own hearts right before the Lord, even if it means doing so again and again, until it has finally been settled in your heart that God’s ways of doing things in life really is the best way. The Lord Jesus Christ has made a way of escape from your sin, for you, with the passion that only He could accomplish.  His death on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead, has provided the way of escape from the sinful nature that had ruled your life. In the words of a song, this has been expressed perfectly:
Living He loved me;
Dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins all away;
Rising He justified;
Freed me forever;
Now He is coming back again;
Oh Glorious day, Oh Glorious Day.
“Come unto Me, you who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest. Come and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matt 11 : 28 – 30. “Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.”  James 4: 10.

Writing the Vision

Prophetic Article by Thomas Downes(www.thevoiceofthewriter.wordpress.com)

There comes a time where a person must throw himself at the mercy of the Lord in order to hear what He really is saying. There are times when it seems as if you have dried up the well all by yourself, and what’s left is the mud at the bottom of the well. Are you trying to draw water from a cistern that once had such an abundance of water as a resource that you weren’t paying attention when it was running low?
Remember the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis where He had the Word of Knowledge from interpreting a dream about the seven years of famine that was coming? What did he do? He commanded that wheat be stored up for the next seven years for the seven years of famine that was coming. In other words, he prepared the nation of Egypt for its utmost survival, as well as for his brothers and his father’s house  . He had no idea that he was about to save, through his actions, his own family as well.
It should be pretty obvious that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so much higher are His ways than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. But we are not always aware of the obvious. When we think we have it all together, He can allow a few things until we become aware of how short we really are of His excellence. But we are made in the image of His dear Son and He will not allow you to go through more than you can endure without providing the way of escape. .
You are being emptied by His ways because His ways are higher. You are being transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you will have the mind of Christ;  because His thoughts are higher and purer. You are being given the vision which He wants you to write because it is meant for such a time as this. You are being prepared through trials that you had no knowledge of beforehand so that you will have to trust the Author and Finisher of your faith. For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross despising the shame of it, and has sat down at the right hand of the Father, having triumphed over it, as well as triumphing over death. Now endure the writing of the vision, for you will triumph as well.
With ever increasing joy you are about to enter a time where water is being restored to your wellspring of life. When you thought you had used up all that you have, He is saying: “I have a new thing for you.” The wells of salvation are being made known to you so that you will know what is really  true, and the truth about the wellspring of life will set you free. It will pour into your spirit as the anointed river of life, and will flow through your life as the anointed overflow of the Lord’s Presence. Therefore with joy shall you draw water from the wells of salvation. When the Lord gives you the vision, He will provide what the vision needs.
Your walk with Me is about to change. There are legions of angels doing battle in the heavenlies, knocking down and disrupting the strongholds of your enemies  Where you had been weak in your attempts to resist temptation, the Lord has sent forth His Word into your weakness to restore your strength. This is the anointed river of life that is restoring unto you the years that the swarming locusts have eaten.
This is the river of life that is speaking to you, it is the Voice of the Lord that is calling out to you. “I have been calling you by your own name and you are mine. I have not forgotten you, nor have I ever left you. But turn around and run to Me says the Lord, for I am your fortress, I am your deliverer. For he who runs to Me will find Me, for the door will never be shut unto you. For the Name of the Lord is a strong tower, and the righteous run unto Me and find safety”; says the Lord.
“Now write the vision, and make it plain on tablets so that he may run who reads it.”  Habakkuk 2: 2.
